For easy decorating and to get that nice smooth finish on your cake, use a turntable. You can buy them at the craft stores that sell cake supplies. I have the cheapest one they sell (about $9.00) and I've had it for about 15 years and its held up great. I've even done 4 wedding cakes on it! One of the best tools for cake decorating!
