So about ten years ago, I took a couple night courses for cake decorating. This is the recipe my instructor gave us. It's pretty easy and because its a decorator icing, it sets up great and keeps its shape, especially if you put it in the fridge! Because it's white, you can color it any color you want, just use the color paste and not the drops so it won't get runny. Oh yeah, it tastes pretty dang good too!!
1 1/2 cups Crisco
1 tsp salt
1 tbs vanilla
3/4 tsp butter flavoring
1 tsp almond extracr
3 tbs dreamwhip powder
1/2 cup water
2 lbs confectioners sugar
Mix first 6 ingredients, then add 1/2 the water & 1/2 the sugar. Mix till smooth. Then add the rest of water and sugar and mix 5-7 minutes. you can keep this icing in the fridge for 1 week
